Job Description:

Job Location: Newmarket, ON

Salary: $27.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Types of Products: Perennials

Types of Crops: Cabbage

College certificate or completion of other specialized training in agriculture is required

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise farm worker groups
• Set priorities for the team
• Keep workers on task and ensure vegetables are properly grown
• Communicate with manager and director about every day duties
• Plan, fertilize, cultivate, irrigate and harvest crops
• Detect disease and health problems in crops
• Examine produce for quality and prepare for market
• Keep record and prepare estimates of needs
