Job Description

We are Vancouver’s one stop shop for digital printing, large format printing, plastic card printing, stickers and decal printing, and sign printing. Press Operators are key production personnel responsible for the proper set-up and operation of printer equipment. They are required to attain maximum levels of productivity, efficiencies and quality in the performance of daily shift workload requirements.

Job Duties

  • Precisely set-up and operate printer equipment and processes in our printing facility
  • Loading and feeding paper and ensuring the quality of the final printed piece
  • Review job orders to determine job specifications such as production time, colour sequence and quantities required, and advise press crew of these specifications
  • Accurate transformation of written production information into manufactured product that meets the required specifications
  • Make adjustments and determine settings to control colour and viscosity
  • Monitor regular press runs for quality and consistency using computer control console and make adjustments as required
  • Monitor and respond to error, alert or fault messages on automated press operation systems; make minor repairs to presses and other equipment as needed using hand tools
  • Work with press crew and ensure that safety procedures are adhered to

Employment requirements

  • Formal Education: Completion of high school is required. Completion of a college program in printing technology or Visual arts will be an asset.
  • Experience: Any prior experience Experience loading and unloading paper and vinyl rolls as well as identifying papers and ink issues will be a real asset to have.
  • On-the-job training is provided to the candidates willing to learn.
  • Satisfactory communication skills in English to ensures that communications are effectively transmitted to all necessary parties.
  • Focus on a safety, Cost, Quality and Delivery.
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Must be dependable.

  • 4% vacation of the gross salary each pay period.
  • Overtime rate of 1.5 times the regular wages applicable after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
