Horticulture Workers Supervisor (Grounds keeping/landscaping Supervisor) (NOC 8255)

Terms:

Location: Various locations in Edmonton and the surrounding area, AB

Salary: $24.00 - $28.00 / Hour

Hours:  40 hours in Winter, 50 hours in Summer

Vacancies: 8

Terms of Employment:  Permanent, Full time

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (High) school graduation certificate

Experience:  2 years of relevant experience

Ability to Supervise: 5 – 10 people

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed Safety Boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, ability to distinguish between colours, large workload, attention to detail, physically demanding

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, outdoor work through Winter months

Personal Suitability: Team player

Area of Specialization: Lawn care, Tree service, Grounds maintenance, Landscape construction, Nursery or greenhouse

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Sod cutter, Chain saw, Small engine equipment, Tractor mower

Duties:

• Plan and direct grounds maintenance
• Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work
• Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers
• Establish work schedules and procedures
• Resolve work-related problems
• Train other workers
• Supervise other workers
• Perform the same duties as other workers supervised
