Job Description
Tru Line Painting is a fast growing painting contracting company based in Surrey BC. Tru-Line Painting is locally owned and operated. Owner Dave has over 20 years experience in the business. All team members are highly qualified and committed to customer satisfaction, ready to bring your painting project to life. We specialize in a wide range of services applicable to residential, commercial, and strata owners from Interior and exterior painting, Fine finish cabinets and mill work, Staining, Wallpaper removal and installation, Drywall repairs and installation, Texture ceilings repair and new, Epoxy floor coatings and Parking line and stencil painting. Currently, we are looking for 3 Painter to offer a permanent, full-time career in our company. Ideal candidate will be asked to perform the following job duties:

• Apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings and/or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers
• Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats
• Prepare and clean surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro-blasting and steam-cleaning; remove old wallpaper and loose paint; repair cracks and holes in walls; and sandpaper and apply sealer
• Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surface measurements and/or work orders
• Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives
• Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistencies
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

Employment requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of a 3-4 apprenticeship program or 2-3 years of work experience in the trade is required.
• Good communication skills in English
• Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
• Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
• Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Great attention to detail

Benefits: As per BC Employment Standard Act.  4% Vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period.
