Job Summary

 

We seeking an organized, skilled and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant (Medical) to meet the administrative requirements of our business including maintaining medical records and reports, processing insurance claims, handle billing and making appointments. We require someone who is focused with good attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to work.

Job Description and Duties:

 

  • Make appointments in person, via phone and electronically, relay messages from and to patients and prepare any other required correspondence
  • Maintain databases and spreadsheets of client data, entry and preparation of electronic medical reports maintaining complete confidentiality and secure storage of confidential information
  • Filing, scanning and faxing hard copy medical documents
  • Review patient forms, evaluate inputs from patients, collect information for case histories
  • Provide friendly and efficient client service
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims
  • Determine and implement administrative procedures and daily routines
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies
  • Keep working space organized and clean
  • Take minutes at staff meetings and prepare meeting agendas
  • Responsible for billing, preparing invoices and financial statements
  • May supervise and train other admin staff

 


Terms of Employment:
Permanent, Full Time, Long Term


Hours of Work:
40 hours per week

 

Wages:  $23.00 per hour

 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations

 

 

Benefits Package:

 

  • Insurance from Workplace Safety and Insurance Board covered by employer
  • Vacation pay as per provincial regulations will be paid each payday on a semi-monthly basis

 

Location of Work: 2635 E Hastings St, Vancouver, BC V5K 1Z6


Anticipated Start Date of Employment:  As soon as possible

Education, Experience and Language Requirements:

  • At least two years of related experience
  • Completion of Secondary School is required
  • Verbal and written English communication skills
