Fleet Labourer - Driver

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of products
  • Majority of travel within the province of Saskatchewan with occasional out-of-province travel required
  • Haul trucks with various types of trailers including Step Deck, Float and Jeep
  • Safely haul and have a fleet equipment of directional drills, trenchers, backhoes, cable stringing equipment, diggers, bucket trucks.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and truck/trailer inspections
  • Maintain accurate logbooks
  • Responsible for cleaning, inspecting, light maintenance and lubrication of truck and trailer to ensure maximum reliability
  • When not on the road, required to assist in the Fleet Shop with general duties
  • Observe strict compliance to all policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Experience & Education

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience hauling equipment and driving Semi-Trucks
  • Valid Class 1A Driver’s License – Driver’s Abstract will be requested
  • High School Diploma required
  • Working with pintle hitch trailers, fifth wheel step decks, detachable neck double drop, winch tractor with scissor neck an asset

Skills

  • Upmost consideration for safety
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills as it relates to trucks and equipment
  • Ability to work multiple shifts, including weekends and overnight stays when needed
