Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Performs tasks related to the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of electrical/electronic systems.
Responsible for making PLC and HMI program changes, installations or updates to maintain proper operations.
Assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of interior wiring systems, electrical equipment, conduit, cable, transformers, switching equipment etc.
Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical and control related problems in the field.
Support new panel builds, program, installations and modifications.
Assist in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic components.
Repair or replace control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starts, thermocouples, etc. as needed.
Detect, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions in all types of equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical functions.
Read electrical drawings for conveyors, machines.
Install and configure robot applications.
Programming of Allen Bradley and Omron PLCs,HMI ’ s, Vision Systems and networking.
Comply with all legislated and company health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs, including lockout/tagout.
Essential skills:
PLC programming experience using multiple types of software such as Rockwell, Siemens or Omron.
Ability to understand, create and modify electrical drawings, process & instrumentation diagrams and schematics when required.
Experience with automated equipment and systems.
Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience with Industrial Robots (FANUC, ABB, MITSUBISHI etc.).
Must be proficient with Allen Bradley Logix 500/5000, Automation Direct, Panasonic.
Assist in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic components.
Controls troubleshooting.
Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada (for example, by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency)
Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work.
Prerequisites:
Registered Apprenticeship certificate( as an Industrial Electrician (442A) or as a Construction Electrician (309A)) or equivalent experience.
2 years of related experience in an industrial environment.
A college diploma/certificate in IT or Electrical Engineering.
