We are seeking motivated and reliable Plumber Helpers to join Chahal Mechanical Ltd. in Surrey, where plumbing support is an essential part of our mechanical service operations across the Lower Mainland. The selected candidates will assist experienced plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including water supply lines, drainage systems, fixtures, and related components. Responsibilities include handling materials, preparing tools and work areas, assisting with measurements and installations, and providing general site support across multiple construction and service locations. This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to follow instructions, attention to safety and quality standards, and a willingness to work in a physically demanding, team-oriented environment while contributing to the timely completion of projects.

Position Description

Position: Plumber Helper                                                                                                                                     

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

No of positions: 3

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various Locations in Lower Mainland (BC) as per company’s contracts.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $25.00 per hour

Overtime and Vacation Pay

Stable, full-time employment

Transport to workplace (if required)

Relocation assistance of up to $1500 for qualified candidates and a referral bonus of up to $1,000 for current Chahal Mechanical employees.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial plumbing systems.
• Carry materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
• Measure, cut, and prepare pipes and fittings under the direction of a plumber.
• Help locate and mark positions for pipe connections, fixtures, and openings in walls and floors.
• Prepare work areas by setting up equipment, protecting surfaces, and cleaning job sites.
• Support testing of plumbing systems for leaks and proper operation using air and water pressure equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing basic plumbing issues such as clogged drains or leaking fixtures.
• Follow instructions from plumbers and supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
• Observe and comply with workplace safety procedures, job-site rules, and company policies.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Communicate effectively with team members to support daily work activities.
• Perform other related plumbing helper duties, as assigned, to support timely completion of projects.

Qualification & Requirements

• Previous experience in plumbing, construction, or related trade is an asset; however, training will be provided to suitable candidates with no prior experience.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
• Good communication skills to follow instructions and coordinate with team members.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and carry out assigned tasks under supervision.
• Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, as required by job sites and project schedules.
