Class 1/AZ Delivery Driver (Delivery Service Representative)

  • 32 MacDonald Ave, Dartmouth, NS, B3B 1C5 – 6 vacancies
  • 43 Tregothic Dr Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0 – 1 vacancy
  • 21 Acacia Valley Road, Digby, NS, B0V 1A0 – 1 vacancy
  • Deliveries to various locations in the surrounding areas
  • Local routes (guaranteed home every day)
  • Truck provided

Employment terms and conditions:

• Permanent
• Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Monday to Friday
• Shifts start between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and vary based on assigned routes
• Weekend, overtime, and Statutory Holiday work may be required

Salary:

• Compensation is a combination of daily base pay, pay per stop, mileage, load, sales, and performance, equivalent to an average of $30-$45/hour, with potential up to $55/hour  
• Daily base pay increase after 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months of employment
• Salary increases per company policy based on annual reviews and adjustments

Requirements:

Languages: English

Credentials:

• Class 1/AZ driver’s license required at the time of hire
• Clean commercial driver’s abstract
• Must be able and willing to pass a company road test

Security and safety: Criminal record check

Duties:

• Build and maintain positive customer relationships
• Operate straight trucks and tractor/trailers (containing reefer) safely to transport and deliver goods at various delivery sites in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform daily pre/post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment
• Perform proper equipment maintenance, monitor reefer temperature, and report mechanical issues and damage in a timely manner
• Operate on-board computer and handheld scanner
• Manually sort and unload products (using dollies and other safety equipment, and a two-wheeler with a load weighing up to 350 lbs)
• Accurately collect customer payments, safeguard company funds and follow GFS banking policies
• Manage paperwork to include register, credits, pick-ups, etc.
• Complete daily check-ins accurately in a timely manner
• Collaborate with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns
• Adhere to all safety/compliance regulations and procedures
• Attend department meetings
• May perform other related duties as needed
