We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Home Support Worker to provide personal care and daily assistance in a private household. The successful candidate will assist with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, household tasks, and other daily living activities while promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment.
Job Duties:
Provide personal care and companionship to the employer.
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding, if required.
Administer prescribed medications and assist with other routine health-related duties, as directed.
Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe home environment.
Transport and accompany the employer to medical appointments, errands, and community activities, as required.
Monitor the employer's well-being and report significant changes to designated family members or healthcare professionals.
Promote the employer's comfort, dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
Requirements:
Completion of secondary school is required.
Minimum 1 year of experience providing care to seniors, persons with disabilities, or individuals requiring personal assistance, or completion of a Home Support Worker, Personal Support Worker, or related caregiving training program, is required.
Basic knowledge of personal care, mobility assistance, hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and safe caregiving practices is required.
Valid driver's licence is required.
On-the-job orientation will be provided regarding the employer's care needs, daily routines, and household procedures.
Ability to provide compassionate, patient, and respectful care while promoting the employer's comfort, dignity, and independence.
Strong reliability, responsibility, and interpersonal skills, with the physical ability to assist with mobility, transfers, lifting, and other caregiving duties.
Flexible availability, including evenings or weekends if required.
