We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable Home Support Worker to provide personal care and daily assistance in a private household. The successful candidate will assist with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, household tasks, and other daily living activities while promoting a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment.

 

Job Duties:

  • Provide personal care and companionship to the employer.

  • Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, mobility, and other activities of daily living.

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding, if required.

  • Administer prescribed medications and assist with other routine health-related duties, as directed.

  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and maintaining a safe home environment.

  • Transport and accompany the employer to medical appointments, errands, and community activities, as required.

  • Monitor the employer's well-being and report significant changes to designated family members or healthcare professionals.

  • Promote the employer's comfort, dignity, independence, and overall well-being.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience providing care to seniors, persons with disabilities, or individuals requiring personal assistance, or completion of a Home Support Worker, Personal Support Worker, or related caregiving training program, is required.

  • Basic knowledge of personal care, mobility assistance, hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and safe caregiving practices is required.

  • Valid driver's licence is required.

  • On-the-job orientation will be provided regarding the employer's care needs, daily routines, and household procedures.

  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient, and respectful care while promoting the employer's comfort, dignity, and independence.

  • Strong reliability, responsibility, and interpersonal skills, with the physical ability to assist with mobility, transfers, lifting, and other caregiving duties.

  • Flexible availability, including evenings or weekends if required.
