Job Description

We are looking for a Caregiver for the help of our father. The Caregiver will work at our residence but is free to live outside the home and we will help in finding an affordable and suitable accommodation nearby.

Terms of employment Permanent, Full-time; year-round work.

Salary: $24.50 per hour

Work Setting: Private home located in Surrey, BC

Start Date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Surrey, BC, V3T 3P4 (near intersection of 131 Street & 97 Avenue in Surrey, BC)

Position responsibilities

• Provide personal care and companionship to elderly person.
• Assist with daily exercise instructed by the family doctor.
• Prepare nutritious/healthy meals and special diets and assist in feeding.
• Provide medication to elderly person, in addition to keeping records of doctor's meeting.
• Escort to the social events, parks, doctor’s appointments, and other appointments.
• Assist in personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, bowel care, and personal care.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties for elderly person (e.g., laundry, washing dishes and making bed etc.).
• Maintain a safe and clean environment around the elderly person.
• Observe behavior and activities of the elderly person for reference purpose.
• Perform other related duties as required by the elderly person.

Position Requirements

• Completion of secondary school.
• Minimum 6 months of experience in a similar role or completion of training program in care of the elderly, or in related field.
• Good communication skills.
• First Aid Certificate or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate would be an asset.
