Job Requirements:

Languages

English

Education

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years

Work setting

General law practice, Business or corporate law, Litigation, Property and real estate law

Personal suitability

Accurate, Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Organized, Reliability, Team player, Proficient computer skills in programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Area of work experience

Charts, tables, graphs and diagrams, Contracts, Correspondence, Invoices, Manuscripts, publications or theses, Reports and records

Computer and technology knowledge

MS Word, Electronic mail, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows

Tasks

  • Schedule and confirm appointments,
  • Maintain filing system,
  • Record and prepare minutes of court sessions, meetings or conferences,
  • Draft documents of various legal disciplines
  • Organizing and assembling application packages.
  • Obtaining government filing fee payments.
  • Arranging document delivery and couriers
  • Determine and establish office procedures and routines,
  • Arrange travel, and related itineraries and make reservations,
  • Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information,
  • Prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents,
  • Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
  • Performing other legal administrative tasks as required.
