Jas RB Gill Transport Ltd. is a Winnipeg, Manitoba-based trucking company. The company offers a variety of services such as local and long-distance transportation and logistics management. We are looking for time-efficient, resourceful, and customer-focused 'Truck Dispatchers'. The truck dispatcher will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of driver dispatch, scheduling, routing, and ensuring that all activities are accurately recorded in the company’s transportation management system.

Wage: $23.00 per hour

Job Duties

• Communicate with drivers to determine their availability and location.
• Dispatch personnel in accordance with written schedules and work orders, or in the event of an emergency.
• Keep track of the location and status of trucks and cargo.
• Coordinate with customers and other businesses to schedule pickups and deliveries.
• Resolve transportation-related issues, such as traffic delays and equipment failures.
• Maintain a record of all dispatched trucks, drivers, and cargo.
• Analyze and generate reports on transportation activities and costs.
• The accuracy of time sheets and payroll summaries should be ensured.
• Monitor daily dispatch activity to identify escalations that require immediate attention.
• Ensure all next-day deliveries are routed prior to the end of the shift.
• Ensure shipping memos are accurate, including street names, duplicate orders, and inflated stock quantities.

Job Requirements: 

• Completion of secondary school.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working under tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Windows Outlook, Microsoft excel, and internet.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
