POSITION: Carpenter

Job requirements:

• English Language
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience

Tasks: 

• Reading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects, construction professionals, and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements. 
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes, using measuring tools,
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials.
• Prepare tenders and quotations,
• Build foundations,
• Install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems,
• Install items where designated
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware,
• Instruct apprentices,
• Preparing cost estimates for clients
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems,
• Conduct repairs and maintenance and renovate residences and wooden structures.
• Add fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closures
• Select lumber as per the requirements of the project
• Measure and mark materials for alterations
