Job Description

G.B. Catering, we provide complete contract food services, which includes menu planning, purchasing, staffing, training, and administration. There are no limits to the services we can provide-in over 50 years of operation, we have seen and done just about everything. 

Position: Caterer Cooks 

Number of vacancies: 3 

Wages: $15.50 CAD

Working hours per week: 44 hours 

Work Location: 102 Lindgren Rd West Unit#1, Huntsville, Ontario, Canada, P1H 1Y2. | Various locations (summer camps, catering events).

Work conditions: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, On Call, Shift, to be determined, Weekend

Language Required: English 

Education Required: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years 

Job Duties: 

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas and Maintaining a high level of sanitation and safety
• Recruit and hire staff
• Organize and manage buffets and banquets
• Manage kitchen operations
• Review of different menus
• Prepare large quantities of food of many different styles and types
• Prepare entrees, appetizers, salads, and desserts
• Follows recipes and produces food items as assigned by the chef
