Job Responsibilities
- Establish work schedules and procedures.
- Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.
- Preparing the consignment loading schedules and co-ordinate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems.
- Drive (inbound & outbound) logistics operations, fleet management, and negotiation with freight forwarders for timely delivery of the materials required.
- Prepare and submit reports, resolve work related problems.
- Manage and develop logistics staff.
- Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
- Monitor company's or department's performance, prepare reports for senior management, and plan for changes to schedules and policies.
- Respond to any issues or complaints.
- Update and evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
- Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators and insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates.
- Formulating of Standard Operating Procedures, Contracts, Practices as per Industrial Standards.
Requirements
- Minimum Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- No prior experience required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Able to supervise 5-10 people, 11-15 people, 16-20 people, Dispatchers and radio operators, Shippers and
receivers, Transportation route and crew schedulers.
- Strong team player, able to work in a Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports.
- Employment conditions: Overtime, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend, Night, Flexible hours
Salary & hours
$21.00 to $24.00 / hour for 35 to 55 hours / week
