Ability to efficiently assign loads on driver to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and driver retention for assigned market areas. Including monitoring ongoing freight optimization based on current loads in progress.
Able to schedule & plan routes, thorough understanding of dispatching software Fleet Manager; perform general office duties.
Communicate with carriers and the customers to resolve any discrepancies; Direct and organize logistics activities such as obtaining shipment rates, negotiating with logistics service providers, selecting 3PL partners, tracking and expediting shipments, and solving any discrepancy of quality, quantity, and schedule.
Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders.
Follow up on issues with work orders.
Responsible for driver load monitoring, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating to the affected customers. These problems normally include truck mechanical problems, traffic or weather issues, or customer directed shipment changes.
Keep track of shipments Knowledge of cross border dispatching regulations and practices.
Maintain vehicle operator work records.
Operate computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment.
Receive requests for emergency assistance or service.
Role Eligibility
A college or CEGEP level education in similar or equivalent field
3 years or less than 5 years of experience in similar or equivalent role position
Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure
Physically demanding job
Ability to supervise 3-4, 5-10 people
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills to clearly relay information to all involved parties
Able to work Overtime as and when required
Salary & hours
$27 per hour for 40 Hours per week
