Job title: Bookkeeper

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Remuneration: 27 hourly, 40 hours per week

Number of positions: 1

Languages                  English, Spanish would be considered an asset 

Education                  bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field

Experience                 +5 years

Location                     Newmarket, ON: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Type of Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience working in a bookkeeping or accounting role in a mid-large sized company. Big 4 experience a plus
• Experience with QuickBooks software or other accounting systems.
• Strong Excel skills required (e.g. Pivot Table & VLOOKUP experience)
• Accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent is an asset.

• Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports.

Duties:

• Keep financial records, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
• Prepare trial balance of books.
• Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills.

• Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents.

• Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services.
• Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
