We, S&S Drywall & Rubbish Removal Ltd., a construction company located in Surrey, BC are currently hiring for:

Job Tile: Construction Carpenter

Job Type: Full-time, permanent

Vacancy: 2 positions are available

Wage Rate and hours: $30.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime is required.

Start date: as soon as possible

Job Location: various locations across Lower Mainland, BC as per the job contracts.

Job requirements:

Language: English

Education: no education requirement. If you do not have any experience, we will also consider candidates with completion of related trade program.

Experience: 1-2 years of related experience as a Carpenter or completion of trade related apprenticeship program is required

Construction Projects: residential, commercial construction projects

Job duties:

• Ensuring ladders, scaffolds and other devices are in good working order
• Supervise construction helpers to make sure the material is delivered properly and stored or moved by the end of each shift as per company policies and guidelines
• Maintaining cleanliness of construction sites
• Attend safety meetings
• Ensure proper use of hand and power tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures as per job requirement
• Read and interpret blueprints of construction plans , drawing and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts as per to building codes using measuring tools
• Perform work as per the city building codes and project requirements

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking
