Location: Bishop’s Falls, NL A0H 1C0

Salary: $22.25 per hour for 30 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 40 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment 

Job Responsibilities:

• Generate bills of lading, invoices, and various shipping documentation.
• Arrange and pack items for shipment and unpack received packages.
• Assemble containers and crates while managing an internal record-keeping system.
• Accept and inspect incoming shipments to ensure they match the accompanying documentation and meet quality standards.
• Oversee loading and unloading of goods. 
• Update inventory records by entering received items into the system, keeping track of stock levels, and identifying discrepancies.
• Process payments for and receive payments from goods.
• Properly package outgoing shipments, ensuring they are labeled correctly with shipping information and handling instructions.
• Inspect products for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the appropriate departments.

Eligibility Requirements:

• A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is the minimum educational requirement. 
• Prior experience of 1 to 2 years in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse role is often preferred, especially within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting heavy packages up to 50 lbs., working in different weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail to accurately process orders, verify shipments, and ensure proper labeling.
• Effective organizational skills to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain inventory, and handle documentation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English to interact with colleagues, drivers, and suppliers.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, using inventory management software, and generating shipping documents.
• Capability to work collaboratively with colleagues, drivers, and other team members to achieve efficient shipping and receiving operations.
• Ability to manage time effectively to meet shipping deadlines and maintain a smooth workflow.
• Aptitude for resolving issues related to shipments, deliveries, and inventory discrepancies.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, handle unexpected situations, and manage fluctuating workloads.
