Job Title: Transport Truck Driver (NOC 73300)

Terms of Employment: 50 hours per week, Full-time/ Permanent

Employment conditions: Day, Early morning, Evening, Night, Overtime, Weekend

Start Date: As soon as possible

Wage: $28.00 per hour

Overtime: 1.5 times the regular pay for every hour exceeding 60hrs/week

Benefits:  As per company policy

Vacation Pay: 10 days paid vacation per year.

Work setting: Various locations across Canada

Job Duties:

• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.

Education:

• Completion of Secondary school is required.
• Class 1 or A Driver’s License and Air brake endorsement are required.

Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience is desirable. However, no experience is necessary. On the job training will be provided to willing candidates.

Language:

• Proficiency to communicate in basic English.
