Location: Mississauga, ON L5W 0H7
Salary: $43.15 per hour for 30 hours per week
Number of vacancies: 1
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Responsibilities:
- Design and create data models to represent organizational data structures.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize databases, including writing SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Integrate data from various sources into a central database system.
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.
- Establish backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data in case of system failures or data loss.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through data validation and cleansing processes.
- Generate reports and provide data analysis to support business decision-making.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, processes, and configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as developers, data scientists, and business analysts, to support data-related projects and initiatives.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A CEGEP/ college degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is required.
- Proficiency in database management systems like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is essential. Knowledge of database design, data modeling, and SQL query optimization is also crucial.
- Relevant work experience, often ranging from 2 to 3 years or more is crucial.
- Strong programming skills, especially in SQL and often in languages like Python or Java, XML may be required for more technical roles.
- One should have strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and troubleshoot database issues.
- Good communication skills are essential to collaborate with various teams, document processes, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining data accuracy and ensuring database integrity.
- Database analysts often encounter complex data-related challenges, so problem-solving skills are highly valuable.
- The ability to stay updated with emerging database technologies and adapt to changes in the field is important for long-term success in this role.
