Position Summary: 

First Step Kids Education Inc. DBA CEFA Early Learning Victoria - Westshore is seeking 1 Early Childhood Educator to join its team. 

Job Details: 

Location: 3030 Merchant Way, Suite 103, Victoria, BC V9B 0X1 

Salary: $20.00 / hour (to be negotiated) 

Vacancy: 1 Vacancy 

Employment Type: Permanent Employment, Full time, 30 to 40 hours per week 

Requirement: As soon as possible 

Job Requirements: 

Language: English 

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years 

Experience: Experience an asset 

Transportation / Travel Information: Public transportation is available 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking 

Credentials (Certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Personal Suitability: Team Player, Dependability, Realiability 

Secutiry and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records 

Work Setting: Child Care Centre 

Early Childhood Educator Specific Skills:

Design and create learning programs to meet children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative, and emotional needs, Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, Knowledge of licensing regulations, Establish guidelines for behaviour, Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children’s development needs and learning process, Ensure that the facility and all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and safe, Attend staff meetings when required
