Responsibilities

Tasks

• Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting
• Cut carcasses, sides and quarters, Grind meats
• Manage inventory, deciding on the quantity, range, and freshness of products based on the needs of the business Cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat
• Wrap and package prepared meats
• Remove bones from meat
• Weigh meats for sale
• Train meat cutters
• Slice cooked meats
• Prepare special orders
• Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
• Follow food safety guidelines
• Use knives, cleavers, meat saws, bandsaws, or other equipment
