Job Description
Job Duties:
- Developing visual concepts and designs for various projects.
- Designing graphics for both digital media (websites, social media) and print materials (brochures, posters).
- Selecting and manipulating fonts to enhance design aesthetics.
- Choosing appropriate color schemes to convey the desired message.
- Manipulating and editing images using software like Adobe Photoshop.
- Arranging text and images in a visually appealing way, especially for publications and websites.
- Developing and maintaining the visual identity of a brand, including logos and style guides.
- Collaborating with clients or teams to understand their design needs and presenting design ideas effectively.
- Addressing design challenges and revising designs based on feedback.
- Meeting project deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organizing and archiving design files for easy retrieval.
Qualification criteria:
- A CEGEP/ college degree in graphic design or a related field, such as visual communication or fine arts.
- Practical experience of 2 to 3 years in a relevant role in graphic designing is crucial.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and knowledge of other relevant tools.
- Strong creative and artistic skills to generate unique and visually appealing designs.
- Knowledge of color theory and the ability to create harmonious color schemes.
- Effective communication skills to understand client needs and present design concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, as design often requires precision.
- Collaboration skills, especially when working in a team or with clients.
Location: Hamilton, ON L8N 2B2
Salary: $30.25 hourly for 35 hours per week
Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours
Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period
