BARBER

Employer: 1435990 B.C. LTD. O/a Stallions Barbershop by Jag cutz

Location: Victoria, BC V8W 1M2

Salary: $17.05 hourly / 32 hours per Week

Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time, Day, Evening, Morning, Night, Weekend

Start date: Starts as soon as possible

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work setting: Urban area, Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio

Responsibilities:

• Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences
• Shampoo customers' hair
• Shave and trim beards and mustaches
• Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages
• Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
• Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair
• Apply hair extensions
• Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair
• Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features or determine style from client's instructions and preferences

Experience and specialization: Hair styling techniques, Blow drying, Hair braiding, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Spiking, Roller setting

Hair colouring techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Frosting, Streaking/highlights

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods

Personal suitability: Client focus, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Judgement
