We are currently seeking a qualified Hotel Front Desk Clerk to join our team and assist with welcoming guests and ensuring their needs are met during their stay at our hotel located in Quesnel, BC.

Job Summary: The Hotel Front Desk Clerk will be responsible for tracking hotel room inventory, checking in guests, responding to inquiries and complaints, providing information on local services and attractions, creating and verifying financial documents for guests, and handling payments at check-out.

Job Description and Duties: 

  • Track hotel room inventory: available, reserved, and assigned rooms 
  • Check-in guests, assign rooms, and complete registration process 
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests and complaints about hotel services and registration, in person, by phone, or in writing 
  • Provide information on local services and attractions 
  • Create and verify financial documents for guests, such as daily records, account statements, receipts, and vouchers 
  • Present departing guests with their charges and handle payments professionally and courteously 
  • Follow all front desk administrative procedures 
  • Other related duties as required 

 

Terms of Employment: Permanent Full Time, Long Term 

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week 

Wages: $18.50 per hour 

Overtime: One and one-half times the regular wage rate as per provincial regulations 

Anticipated Start Date of Employment: As soon as possible 

Education, Experience and Language Requirements: 

  • Completion of Secondary School required
  • At least six months of related experience is an asset
  • Able to speak, read and write in English

 

Additional Skills and Other Requirements: 

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial transactions
  • Proficiency in using computerized or manual systems for record-keeping andfinancial reporting
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and ability toadapt to changing schedules and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to maintain a positive andprofessional demeanor with guests and colleagues
  • Basic knowledge of local attractions and services to provide recommendations toguests
  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is an asset.
