A local Chinese restaurant located in the border between AB and SK serve customers with good food all the year round.
Job Duties:
1. Assemble table settings with clean dishes, flatware, and glassware, ensuring each table is impeccably set before guests arrive, and promptly clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs after guests have finished dining, maintaining a tidy and inviting atmosphere for the next patrons.
2. Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware efficiently and ensure all washed dishes are properly dried and placed in designated storage areas.
3. Monitor condiment levels at tables and serving areas, replenishing supplies as needed to ensure guests have access to essentials such as salt, pepper, and sauces.
4. Keep accurate records of food usage to assist in inventory management and notify supervisors when supplies need to be restocked.
5. Assist kitchen staff in preparing simple food items, such as salads, and appetizers, following recipes and portioning guidelines.
6. Package take-out orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that each order is properly assembled and ready for pickup by customers.
7. Support kitchen staff during peak service hours by helping to prepare, heat, and finish food items as needed to meet guest demand.
8. Take customers' orders and relay them to the kitchen team promptly and accurately, ensuring that all special requests and dietary preferences are noted.
9. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area, including work surfaces, countertops, appliances, and equipment, using appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants.
10. Receive, unpack, and store incoming supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored according to safety guidelines.
11. Dispose of kitchen garbage and trash regularly, ensuring that waste bins are emptied and sanitized to prevent odors and contamination.
12. Sharpen kitchen knives and other tools as needed to maintain their sharpness and effectiveness.
13. Sweep, mop, and polish floors to keep the kitchen area clean and safe for all staff members.
14. Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as directed by kitchen staff, ensuring that all produce is prepared to the required specifications for use in recipes and dishes.
Qualifications:
1. Completion of High School.
2. Prior experience working in a kitchen environment preferred, but not required.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
5. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
6. Physically demanding and repetitive tasks.
7. A positive attitude and have a good sense of team work.
