Travelodge by Wyndham Parksville Hotel Zhu Ltd. is a hotel located near Parksville Beach, offering fantastic local attractions at an affordable rate. With comfortable and convenient amenities, our hotel is an excellent choice for both business and leisure travellers. We are currently seeking a full-time Hotel Receptionist to join our team.

 

Position: Hotel Receptionist

Full Time: Yes (40 hours per week)

Term: Permanent & Indeterminate job position

Work Location: 424 West Island Highway, Parksville, British Columbia V9P 1K8

Time of Work: 9AM to 5PM Monday to Friday (the work hours may vary or overtime hours according to employer request)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Duties:

  1. To assist guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Front Desk related functions, and to maintain high standards of service and hospitality.
  2. Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
  3. Promptly and effectively deal with guest complaints and requests.
  4. Check guests in and out efficiently and in a friendly manner.
  5. Post guest charges and compute guest bill, collect payment and make change for hotel guests following all cash handling procedures as required by Company policy.
  6. Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, room rates, amenities, and selling strategies.
  7. Take reservation requests efficiently.
  8. Keep lobby and desk area clean and presentable.
  9. Ensure all credit cards, cash, and change fund are balanced throughout each shift.
  10. 10. Inform management of any guest or systems related complaints or problems.
  11. 11. Pass on guest lost and found inquiries to management or supervisors.
  12. 12. Must wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
  13. 13. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirement:

  1. At least completion of high school/secondary school, higher education in customer service or hospitality is preferred
  2. Experience in customer service or front desk is required
  3. Good verbal communication ability in English is required
  4. Excellent customer service skills
  5. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  6. Ability to handle high-pressure situations with a calm and professional demeanor

Compensation: $21 per hour                                                                     

Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation each year during the term of this Agreement after 3 months’ probation.

Pension Plan: Able to contribute immediately and company will match 2% after first year of employment. Employee has access to employee contribution after 2nd year of employment.
