Hiring: Home Support Worker/Companion/Caregiver 

Employer Details: The Sran family is seeking a companion/caregiver for their elderly parents, aged 71 and 76, to assist with their daily activities.

Job details:

• Location: Harris Road, Abbotsford, BC
• Terms: Permanent, Full-time
• Hours: Day, Early Morning, Evening, Flexible, Split Shift
• Start: ASAP
• Vacancies: 1
• Wage: $20/hour for at least 30 hours/week

Requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: High school diploma
• Experience: Related course, diploma or certificate, or 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare healthy meals for elderly parents.
• Perform personal hygiene and general clean-up duties.
• Assist with eating, walking, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Help with exercise.
• Administer medication and keep health records.
• Provide companionship and care in a polite manner.
• Run errands, including doctor appointments.
• Offer emotional support and socialization.
• Monitor overall well-being and report any changes to family members or medical professionals.

It is essential to maintain a clean and safe environment for the individuals under care. Housekeeping duties such as light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation may also be required. Additionally, the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, applying first aid when necessary, is vital.
