Job Title: Dairy Product Tester – Cheese Manufacturing Plant

(dairy product tester -  NOC 94143 - Testers and graders, food and beverage processing)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: 3475 SMITH DRIVE, Armstrong, BC, V0E 1B1

Salary: 22.00  per hour/ 30-40 Hrs /Week

We are a small family-owned cheese company, who take great pride in making artisan cheese. Our cheeses are made from local whole milk from the Okanagan Valley and natural ingredients only. From pasteurization to packaging, it is all done here at our cheese plant. Our cheese recipes are unique to our company and our cheese makers are some of the bests in Canada. We make varieties of  fresh Cheddar Squeakers (cheddar cheese curds), flavoured or traditional cheeses, certified organic cheeses, (Our product line includes Cheddar, Flavoured Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Parmesan, Edam/Gouda, Swiss Cheese, Mozzarella, Butter Cheese, Feta Cheese, Organic Cheese). We are federally licensed. All our cheeses are rennet free, have no added moisture and are Free from: modified milk ingredients, additives and preservatives.

Currently we do have some vacancies in Food Processing Plant as Diary Product Tester- (NOC 94143 - Testers and graders, food and beverage processing) . We are looking for qualified and experienced individuals those who are nearby to our Plant.

Experience in the same field is a must for this position. Specify your experience in the Diary /Food Processing Plant while you apply to this position.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise supervisors of ingredient or product deficiencies
  • Take samples of products at various stages of processing
  • Examine ingredients or finished products to ensure conformance to company standards
  • Conduct routine tests for product specifications
  • Grade and label raw materials or finished products
  • Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulations
  • Conduct quality control tests on cheese and other dairy products to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform sampling, sensory evaluations, and laboratory tests for product texture, taste, and consistency.
  • Monitor production processes to detect and correct quality issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Record and analyze test results, preparing reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and CFIA guidelines.
  • Work closely with production teams to implement quality improvements.
  • Identify and report deviations in product specifications.
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints related to product quality.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory/testing area.

 Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in food science or quality assurance is an asset).
  • Previous experience in food testing, quality control, or dairy processing preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills for recording test results and generating reports.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as required.
