AES’s CEinfinite system provides high throughput and reliable analytical and preparative imaging detection capillary isoelectric focusing (icIEF) and icIEF-MS coupling. AES also supplies critical reagents such as carrier ampholytes and pI markers for the whole life cycle of therapeutic proteins. The company is currently focused on developing and optimizing innovative products to directly target the bottlenecks of protein separation and characterization in the biopharmaceutical industry.

 

Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Chemistry Research Scientist with a rich knowledge base and a strong background in chemistry and chemical synthesis to develop, manufacture, control long-term product consistency, and write related SOPs of key reagent portfolios.

Wage: $38/hour, 40 hours/week

Summary:

Develop, manufacture, production, and quality control of consumable portfolios, including capillary coating and carrier ampholytes synthesis. high-reproducibility and flexible compatibility with multiple MS brands, relevant consumables, and workflow & solution development to promote the business of differentiating icIEF-MS portfolio with accordingly diverse consumable products in biopharma industry. The salary of this opening position is $79,040 annual year. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, optimization, and scale-up of synthetic workflows supporting the development and applications of AES’ iCIEF and icIEF-MS platform, with an emphasis on chemical reproducibility, safety, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Participate in the construction and enhancement of icIEF-MS tandem systems by contributing integrated chemical process solutions and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations (GMP, ICH, ISO).
  • Provide cross-functional support across process development, QA/QC, and supply chain teams by generating compliant SOPs, risk assessments, and production documentation for seamless technology transfer.
  • Collaborate with the Chemist Team and Instrumentation Team to integrate synthetic chemistry workflows with icIEF-MS analytical capabilities and method development.
  • Offer technical guidance on laboratory setup and workflow establishment based on previous experience in lab infrastructure planning and implementation.
  • Contribute to the promotion of icIEF-MS and associated chemical solutions through invention disclosures, internal technical bulletins, and SCI journal publications.
  • This role may require travel of up to 10% of the time, depending on project needs.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in synthetic chemistry and process development in industrial or manufacturing contexts.
  • Strong technical writing, cross-functional collaboration, and project planning skills.



Preferred experience

 

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Self-motivated, hardworking, enthusiastic, and outgoing
  • Experience in capillary coating techniques and carrier ampholytes synthesis is considered a strong asset, particularly in the context of consumable development for icIEF-MS platforms.
  • Extensive experience in scaling synthetic processes from gram-level to multi-hundred-kilogram and ton-scale production, with a strong understanding of scale-up principles and batch reproducibility.
  • First-hand experience supporting chemical production activities at manufacturing sites, including process execution oversight, documentation control, production safety risk assessment, and technical input to supply chain evaluation and planning.
  • Practical experience in establishing functional laboratory environments from the ground up, with the ability to guide new lab setup and provide technical recommendations to other departments.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cross-disciplinary projects involving R&D, operations, and regulatory teams.
