Position Details:

• Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Schedule: 30 hours per week
• Wage: $36.00/hour
• Work Environment: On-site only (no remote option)
• Work Settings: Residential renovations, various construction sites

Job Responsibilities:

• Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and construction drawings to understand project requirements and measurements.
• Planning and marking layout lines for openings and structures using measuring tools and conforming to local building codes.
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, wood substitutes, and other materials to construct or repair frames for windows and doors.
• Installing, leveling, and securing interior and exterior doors, windows, and associated framing components.
• Repairing or replacing worn or damaged doors, windows, trims, and hardware to restore function and appearance.
• Fitting and installing finishing materials such as casings, baseboards, mouldings, stair railings, and door hardware.
• Constructing and renovating walls, floors, and framing systems to support window and door units.
• Maintaining, restoring, or upgrading existing wood structures in residential homes, healthcare settings, commercial properties, and industrial buildings.
• Overseeing and mentoring labourers or less experienced carpenters on proper techniques and safety standards.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with building regulations and company quality standards.

Asset: Ability to estimate materials and labour for small renovation jobs is an added advantage.

Requirements:

• Language: English
• Education: Secondary school graduation certificate
• Experience: 5+ years in carpentry, preferably in renovations
• License: Valid Driver’s License
• Security: Must pass a criminal record check
• Tools Required: Steel-toed safety boots

 Physical Demands:

• Work at heights, in noisy, dusty, and outdoor conditions
• Bending, crouching, kneeling
• Physically demanding – heavy lifting required
• Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• Tight deadlines
