Job Description
Perfect Meat Bowl is a busy Chinese restaurant specializing in Málàtàng (spicy hotpot) and Zhàchuàn (fried skewers). We are seeking an experienced cook who can prepare authentic Chinese street-style dishes efficiently and consistently in a fast-paced kitchen.
Main Duties
- Prepare and cook signature dishes such as málàtàng broth, meat and vegetable skewers, fried snacks, and side dishes according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Select and portion fresh ingredients; marinate and prepare various meat and vegetable skewers before service.
- Operate deep-fryers, soup bases, and other kitchen equipment safely and maintain cooking temperatures and timing precisely.
- Plan daily prep lists and ensure mise en place is ready for busy service periods.
- Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation standards consistent with the restaurant brand.
- Train and supervise kitchen helpers in food preparation and cleaning tasks.
- Ensure food handling, sanitation, and safety standards are followed at all times.
- Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and assist with ordering supplies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in Chinese hotpot, skewer, or street-food style cooking.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese spicy soup bases, chili oils, marinades, and deep-frying techniques.
- Able to handle high-volume operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic English communication for workplace safety required.
- Must be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- No formal education required, but proven hands-on cooking experience in a similar restaurant is essential.
